Our Guide To Types Of Staircase And Common Layouts
Straight Staircases
A simple staircase that goes straight up from one level to another with no turns or twists in the structure. The easiest type to manufacture and install.  Commonly known as straight run stairs. Options include single-flight with or without a landing.
Quarter Turn Staircases
Consisting of two straight flights forming an “L” shape. Also referred to as quarter-turn stairs and quarter turn landing stairs. These type of stairs usually incorporate a small landing and are characterised by having a 90 degree turn. Choose from closed stringers or cut string styles with traditional or contemporary finishes such as metal and glass balustrades
Half Turn Staircases
Sometimes called half-turn landing stairs and also known as U-Shaped staircases as the stairs form a “U” shape with two parallel flights and a landing in between. Sometimes called half-turn or switchback stairs. Various Handrail, spindle and balustrade designs and options for open or closed risers.
Single Winder Staircases
